Respite Barwon is an intranet site designed to improve
communication and access to information for all people with an interest in
respite in the Barwon region of Victoria.
The site has been developed as part of the Respite Service
Development Project. It is an initiative of the Barwon Respite Network, a
group of service providers who provide respite across the streams of Mental
Health. Aged Care and Disability within the Barwon Region.
Assisting caregivers by helping them to have a break from the caring role
while ensuring the experience is a positive one for both the carer and the
person being cared for.
How, when and where the respite takes place should, ideally, be determined
by the carer and the person they care for.
